Job Description

Manpower Engineering is looking for a Lead Designer (Autodesk Inventor) for our client in Richmond, KY. Direct/perm hire.



Summary of what you'd be doing:



* Design work (Autodesk Inventor, CAD, drawings, BOM, etc.) for all product lines and projects.



* Mentor newer drafters/designers. Checks the work of others to assure accuracy and completion.

* Interprets order specifications

* Assists the Senior Designer in planning of work and working procedures.

* Estimates design time assists the Senior Designer with scheduling, layout of equipment, and critical assemblies.

* Determines the correct component descriptions for the bills of materials from vendor data, specifications, and other sources, supported by engineers as required.

* Recommends action required to meet the scheduled design commitments to the Senior Designer.

* Attends project meetings.

* Communicates with engineers to discuss requirements on designs and specifications.

* Assist the engineers with pre-requisition of materials.

* Collaborate with manufacturing in troubleshooting manufacturing problems and propose alternate designs or methods.

* Ensure all work is consistently very high quality with very limited or no errors.

* Ensure all work is completed regularly on schedule.



Here's a summary of who we're seeking:



* Require at least vocational school degree. Ideally BSME degree so can work way up to Mechanical Engineer role.

* Excellent knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault data management tool, AutoCAD, as well as interfacing with ERP software is a must.

* 3-6 years practical experience

* Basic knowledge of Excel, and Microsoft Office



Helpful to have:



* Knowledge of NEC, ATEX, and IECEx drawing requirements

* Helpful to have working knowledge of pressure vessel drawing requirements

* Electrical drawing experience

* ASME Piping Section B 31.1 & B 31.3

* Autodesk certification a plus
