Job Description

The successful candidate will work with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

* Perform hydraulic and mechanical preventative maintenance processes

* Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits involving servo valves and variable displacement pumps

* Install equipment on injection molding machines and throughout the facility

* Welding and fabrication as needed

* Troubleshoot failures on injection molding machines and determine root cause

* Maintain and repair automation equipment

* Repair material loading systems and material dryers and rebuild pumps as needed

* Repair and maintain material grinders and conveyors

* Actively participate in the 5S, SAFE and Continuous Improvement programs

* Continuous participation in all facility waste management and environmentally related programs and training

* Perform other duties as required and/or assigned


* Licensed Millwright (Red Seal), preference given to dual ticketed candidates

* 5 + years in a previous manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, plastic experience is an asset

* Knowledge of robots and automation equipment a must

* Experience/exposure working with Injection Molding Machines required

* Current forklift and overhead crane license an asset - Training to be provided as needed

* Knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment

* Must be able to work a 12-hour continental night shift 7:00 pm - 7:15 am (84 hours bi-weekly)

o Week 1 work Monday, Tuesday and Friday (36 hours)

o Week 2 work Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday (48 hours)

Working Conditions:

* Manufacturing plant environment requiring varying degrees of physical labour consisting of lifting from light to heavy (up to 50 lbs.)

* Climbing heights more than 10'

* Working in confined spaces

* The use of hand tools

* Considerable amount of sensory attention is required
