Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Prince George

* Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, various shifts available (Day, Evening and Overnights)
* Wage: $28.43 - $32.98/hour (depending on seniority) NEW RATES IN NEGOTIATION WITH RETRO PAY

What is the job?
* Observe, monitor, document and update information about residents' physical and psychological condition, care, and nursing procedures.
* Provide and assist with personal care to residents as required.
* Support emergency staff scheduling, as required.
* Ensure adherence to Infection Control Practices and provide education as required for Outbreak and basic infection control practices.
* Differentiating between normal and abnormal physical findings of residents.
* Recognizing deviations from mental health baseline, differentiating between dementia and delirium of residents.
* Assessing and monitoring residents' current and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
* Taking appropriate action such as consulting with the primary physician or making referral to the Mental Health Team.
What do you bring to the job?
* Graduation from a recognized Practical Nurses program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience recognized by the BCCNP.
* Registered with BCCNM as an LPN.
* Current and up-to-date Valid First Aid.
* Gerontological experience preferred.
* MDS education (Gold Care or Point Click Care).
* 1-2 years' experience in a complex care site is preferred.
