POSITION OVERVIEW/JOB PURPOSE

This position is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating the personnel activities of an organization, analyzing and determining causes of personnel problems, and developing recommendations for improvement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares and distributes written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits, compensation, and personnel policies.

Investigates industrial accidents and prepares reports for an insurance carrier.

Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives

Files and retrieves corporation documents, records, and reports.

Day-to-day HR functions include recruiting, staffing, hiring, training, development, coaching, incentives, and disciplinary procedures.

Submit post-offer background check/MVR requests and scheduled drug tests.

Accurately enter employee master file data into the payroll system, including taxes, deductions, garnishments, and other payment information.

Provide timely and helpful customer service for employees concerning payroll-related issues in assigned region/service area

Process and manage worker's compensation claims, benefit claims, or leaves of absence according to company policy and designation of any applicable leave benefits/laws

Updates HRIS employee data such as change of address, transfers, subgroup changes, pay changes, promotions, etc.

Assists with internal/external audits and regulatory reporting.

Performs environmental and housekeeping duties as assigned.

Observes all safety and efficiency standards using the 5S method. Must perform environmental cleaning of assigned work areas.

Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Performs other tasks and assignments as needed in support of the production process.

LIST MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO DO THE JOB BELOW:

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 2 years of HR experience preferred; within a fast-paced environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Principles and practices of personnel administration, including methods and techniques used in recruitment and selection, classification, salary administration, training, safety, safety programs and policies, training techniques, and program development; applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and policies

SKILL: Planning, organizing, assigning, and coordinating the activities of technical and clerical staff; developing consensus; selecting, supervising, training, and evaluating subordinates if applicable; presenting ideas effectively, orally and in writing; dealing constructively with conflict. Computer literate. ADP experience is highly desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasionally required to remain seated in a normal position for long periods of time.

Regularly required to walk about

Regularly required to maintain balance while walking, standing, crouching, or running.

Routinely required to reach up and out with hands and arms

Regularly required to talk and hear, verbally express information or instructions

Regularly required to use hands to grasp objects, type, pick up objects, move objects, or hold objects

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
