Job Description
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for maintaining and adhering to Safety & Health standards, actively participating in employee safety training, hazard prevention and control, worksite analysis, and exercising management leadership
* Manage all aspects of the site maintenance department including fixed cost control and capex spend
* Assist unionized Maintenance Multi-Craft employees in their day to day work by giving technical advice or providing the resources required to ensure timely completion of work orders
* Provide technical leadership for employees in implementing long term solutions to recurrent problems beyond their day to day work to reducing downtime or costs in the process units
* Provide troubleshooting and problem solving as needed
* Coordinate, train, and motivate hourly employees and outside contractors
* Scheduling of Multi-Trade Crafts employees
* Ensure direct reports document daily work accomplished for entry into the CMMS
* Available 24/7 to coordinate emergency repairs
* Ensure that all major shutdowns are properly planned and executed
* Coordinate outside contractors performing daily work as well as scheduled shutdown repair
* Implement improvement projects (scope, cost estimation, request capital money, supervision of fieldwork, commissioning).
* Investigate frequent equipment failures to help identify root cause and implement long-term solutions
* Oversee outside contractors as necessary
Required Education and Experience
* 4-year Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical engineering degree and 7+ years of Maintenance Supervisory experience preferred
* Demonstrated knowledge of industrial maintenance techniques (PM, PDM, CMMS, RCM, TPM )
* Understanding of good engineering and safety practices
* Good communication and technical writing skills.
* Demonstrated ability to estimate, plan, schedule and complete projects within budgetary and time guidelines
* Knowledge of capital money management and return on investment
* Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and to support the maintenance team
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of industrial maintenance techniques (PM, PDM, RCM, TPM)
* Knowledge of mechanical conveying equipment (screw, drag, & belt conveyor, bucket elevators, dust collectors, rotary valves, centrifugal pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, mills, centrifuges, rotary dryers, and tanks)
* Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
* Understanding of good engineering and safety practices
* Ability to coordinate, train, and motivate hourly employees and outside contractors
* Good communication and technical writing skills
* Ability to manage budget and to estimate costs related to various projects
* Knowledge of capital money management and return on investment
* Strong problem-solving skills and experience in failure analysis
* Demonstrated equipment reliability knowledge
* Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and to support the maintenance teams
