Manpower Engineering is partnering with a progressive and growing company that specializes in Power in Motion within a variety of international markets. The organization is currently hiring a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to their talented team. You will be supported by an organization known as an industry leader in the electrification market, that manufactures high quality products and provides "service after the sale" that drives their niche market.







Summary:



The Manufacturing Automation Engineer is a hands-on position working with the operations management, engineering, and manufacturing teams to identify continuous improvement projects that will aid in the growth of business. This role will work on both product and process automation improvements, maximizing efficiency, improving safety and assisting development engineers in progressing design for manufacturability.







Key Responsibilities:



* Plan, design, program, and create automated processes that assist manufacturing

* Analyze equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and work force

* Lead projects in the development and implementation of automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes including design, specification, directing and managing vendors, installation and qualification of automated systems and equipment.

* Create PLC programs and control schemes to support various cyclical testing and process controls.

* Create user interfaces for automation.

* Design automated work centers.

* Develop justifications and business cases for automation projects

* Manage equipment purchase and installation.

* Prepare manufacturing documentation.

* Develop systems and layouts that follow lean manufacturing philosophies of one-piece flow and kanban, with emphasis on mistake proofing.

* Provide Training and guidance to all employee levels in the operation and maintenance of new equipment.

* Design, document, build control boxes and control systems.







Qualifications:



* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotic Engineering. Will consider Associate's Degree.

* 5-10 years of experience in related automation or factory automation projects.

* Experience with panel design, motion and motor control systems, and logic controller programming, HMI, C#, Python, C, using SoC and DRY techniques is a plus.

* Experience using EPlan Electric P8 and Solidworks 2016 or newer preferred.

* Basic networking/communication knowledge (such as Modbus, RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, protocols) required.

* Experience with PLC's and automation controls: Omron experience a plus.

* Proficient in Linux and SQL.

* Skilled in reading and interpreting electric, electronic, and mechanical drawings and schematics.

* Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

* Experience in technical documentation and report generation.

* Experience with Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping) a plus.

* Tool and fixture design and GD &T experience a plus.
