MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - ASSEMBLY



This position is with a stable, growing and well respected manufacturer and engineering solutions provider of world class precision machined parts & assemblies. Due to their continued growth and diversified portfolio of customers/industries (medical, energy, aerospace, defense) in which they serve, they are seeking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to their team. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:



* Analyze established manufacturing processes (assembly) and workflow; applying knowledge of product design, tooling, machines and materials

* Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, testing manufacturing methods and equipment, creating and updating work instructions

* Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout

* Work with Quality to assure product and process quality by designing inspection methods, process capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes, analyzing scrap and implementing corrective actions

* Work with customers to ensure specified requirements are fully understood and met in the manufacturing process

* Assist in new project costing by evaluating customer requirements and providing decision making information on appropriate manufacturing processes

* Assist in management of new projects from pre-production planning through to production of new product

* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies

* Assist in training and onboarding employees to create an independent team with troubleshooting skills



REQUIREMENTS AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



* Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent

* 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience

* 2+ years of project management experience, preferred

* Mechanically minded - willing to provide solution proactively through continuous improvement

* Conversant with modern manufacturing methods including Lean Manufacturing, Quick Response Manufacturing, Cellular Manufacturing

* Working knowledge of GD&T, Engineering Change Documents, and Process Flow FMEA & Diagrams

* Ability to generate statistical reports, X-Bar & R Charts, Gage R&R and Control Plan Measurement System Analysis studies

* Quality minded - strong blue print reading skills, well versed in PPAP elements

* Must have strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills and listening skills

* Must have proficient planning and organizational skills

* Must be detail oriented and think analytically

* Must use solid judgment and independent thinking

* Must be effective with time management and capable of handling frequent interruptions

* Must be accomplished in Microsoft Office products with general knowledge in data entry and computer applications

* Excited about implementing technology
