Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician we are looking for is logical thinking, team player and resourceful problem solver. We are searching for someone with diverse experiences and ability to create/build/maintain fixturing and assembly equipment to drive DFM and manufacturing efficacy. This person is driven by the desire to help transform our production floor with known manufacturing and design tools into a well-oiled engine that can be tuned for high performance and agility.



Major Responsibilities





* Lead in constructing electro-mechanical, Flexible and/or customized automated assembly lines, Cells

* Lead in maintaining electro-mechanical, Flexible and/or customized automated assembly lines, Cells

* Lead in designing and building specialized tooling and Jigs to facilitate high volume yet flexible production

* Assist in creating/reviewing assembly processes, to include work instructions, training, documentation to help assy

* Participate and lead Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives throughout the factory to help increase efficiencies

* Manage production and manufacturing engineering tooling storage and maintenance

* Assist on capital expenditure, financial preparation and facility modification projects

* Be an active self-motivated problem solver working in cross functional teams



Expected Deliverables



Exact KPIs to be defined but will include expectations for positive trends in claims PPM, labor productivity, costs of non-quality, BOM savings, overall production performance, opportunities for variable cost productivity.



Requirements





* Able to lift 35+ lbs

* Able and familiar with using basic hand and power tools

* Can work unsupervised

* Advanced mechanical and electrical assembly experience

* Able to read Electrical schematics

* Able to read basic mechanical drawings

* Understanding of Hydraulics and pneumatics

* Lean / 6 Sigma / 5S experience highly desirable

* Minimum 7-years of experience working in related technical, quality or operations field.

* Technical degree and/or equivalent relevant experience

* Automation, vision systems, smart cell tooling experience is a desirable

* Must be process driven, self-disciplined and well organized.

* Automation experience is a plus

* CAD abilities

* Welding capabilities, soldering expertise
