Job Description

Manpower has partnered with a client in the Victoria area that is looking to add Material Handlers to their team.

Job Duties

 Follows the safety program of the job site, unless they are less stringent than our safety policy and program.

 Follows direction of Driver/Lead Hand (required safety protocols, delivery requirements, etc.)

 Provides efficient, courteous service and damage free material to the customer.

 Manually lifts various building materials from the vehicles ensuring the loads are placed in the locations specified by the customer.

 Assists in loading customer orders on the trucks as required.

 Assists in tying down the building materials on the truck.

 Assists in reading and checking sales orders ensuring the quality and accuracy of the load.

 Safely operates all equipment.

 Uses hand signals from outside of the vehicle to guide the Driver on the job site ensuring no damage occurs.

 Projects and upholds a clean, respectable and professional image.

 The incumbent is responsible for learning about company products.

 Reacts to change productively and performs other essential tasks as assigned.

 Follows the safety program of the job site, unless they are less stringent than our safety policy and program.

 The Material Handler is accountable to the Driver or Lead Hand on the job site.

 Ensures that delivered material is placed where the customer has specified.

 Ensure loads are counted and customers receive accurate product and quantity.

 At all times: guides the Driver when backing up.

 Ensures customers are served in a courteous and professional manner.


 Requires level of literacy and math comprehension normally associated with a Grade 12 Education.

 The incumbent must possess at least a Class 5 License.

 Must be able to lift and carry product and place it without damage (up to 100 lbs.).

Previous forklift and boom truck experience would be beneficial.

 Understand and use hand signals to give direction to Drivers, Boom and Equipment Operators.

 Training provided as required: Fall Arrest, First Aid & Equipment Operator
