What you're doing:



* Respond to and repair sewer backups.Check, cut grass, maintain, diagnose problems, and correct problems at various lift stations.

* Use crane truck to pull pumps and correct problem when necessary.Repair manhole that have been knocked off by vehicles. Locate, and raise manholes that have been buried over a period or covered up by contractors.

* Operates and cares for power tools in maintaining, fabricating, and repairing parts of equipment; operates large mobile equipment such as a boom truck, a forklift, a hoist or a crane, when assigned.

* May act as lead, directing the work of all crew members, including training, guidance, and counseling, to ensure their safety and welfare in the performance of their duties.

* Reviews equipment manuals and maintenance records to develop work plans.

* Completes and submits reports of work activities.



What do you bring?



* Positive, can-do attitude

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent with one (1) year of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of heavy-duty pumping and auxiliary power equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Must possess and maintain a valid class C driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

* Knowledge of city and department policies and procedures.

* Knowledge of waste water treatment plant equipment, operations, and processes.

* Knowledge of maintenance techniques for a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.

* Skill in welding and fabricating parts.

* Skill in operating light and heavy equipment.

* Skill in using hand, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools.

* Skill in reading blueprints.

* Skill in repairing and maintaining a variety of pumps and equipment.

* Skill in oral and written communication.
