Provides design support for new product development, sales, purchasing, quality, and sustaining engineering support for manufacturing.



Specific Responsibilities:





1 Develop an environment of continual improvement through the use of Lean tools.

2 Promote company values - Trust, Innovation, Teamwork, Achievement, and Accountability.

3 Ability to describe the quality policy and goals, your contribution to quality, and the effects of not observing quality and customer requirements.

4 Design new product data including mechanical models and drawings, sketches, and bills of material that meet or exceed provided performance and cost criteria.

5 Innovation with the use of conceptual product ideation, new design elements, materials, and manufacturability.

6 Translate conceptual designs into a fully detailed CAD representation.

7 Able to communicate clearly in writing (e.g. email, memos, explanations, drawings) and explain work to his/her supervisor and others in the group.

8 Technical assistance to sales, customer service, and customers as required.

9 Technical support and sustaining engineering for manufacturing operations.

10 Technical support to purchasing for vendor or parts selection.

11 Administrative support to the Engineering Manager for project data maintenance.

12 Other responsibilities as determined by the Team Lead/Manager.



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED





1 BS degree in engineering or science.

2 Familiar with modern 3D CAD and data management tools (i.e. Solid Edge, ERP, Design Manager)

3 Familiar with detailed drafting techniques (i.e. tolerances, surface finish, GD&T, BOM's and revision control)

4 Familiar with mechanical design techniques (i.e. electronic assemblies, sheet metal fabrication, machined parts, injection-molded, tolerance stack up, and design for manufacturability).

5 Familiar with simulation tools for thermal, fluid dynamics, and stress/strain analysis. (i.e. FEA and Simscale).
