Job Description

Mechatronics is responsible for wiring and controls for all electrical systems for both current product engineering and new product development for companies products.

This position will be responsible for the electrical design of vocational applications, custom vehicle system designs and packaging of all electrical harnesses over the entire vehicle platform.


* Responsible for the development and execution of electrical and electronic designs that meet technical, functional and regulatory chassis and body requirements for commercial vehicle applications

* Responsible to support team supervisor/lead engineer to manage and coordinate projects, manpower allocations and design activities in the Powernet and Packaging team

* Work closely with Sales and Marketing to assure company engineering provides our customers with a complete and thorough solution that perfectly matches their expectations.

* Study current on technological developments and generate new ideas and methods for vehicle design and systems.

* Stay aware of changing truck industry trends and customer needs through media and customer interactions.

* Support project management activities, cross functional project coordination and provide technical direction and guidance to team.

* Execute wiring harness designs, packaging development and documentation for all Mechatronics owned electrical/electronic components (low voltage and high voltage) and their mounting systems throughout all areas of the vehicle.

* Address ongoing production issues with swift and thorough corrective actions including both long term and short term initiatives.

* Support project technical meetings and use Visual Management tools to track and report project status.

* Assist in maintaining vehicle platform project schedules to ensure real-time picture of all known present and future projects.

Required Education and Experience -

* Mid-level Professional

* Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

* Experience managing projects and using project management tools

* Working knowledge of NX (3D harness and power cable routing and clipping)

* Working knowledge of CHS (Capital Logic and Capital Harness XC)

* Experience designing automotive electrical wiring harnesses and/or power distribution cables and components

* Experience designing brackets for electrical component mounting and harness/cable routing and clipping brackets including stress analysis (FEA)

* Working knowledge of companies Documentation systems.

* Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Experience with identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems

* Understanding of engineering processes & downstream impacts

* Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks with the highest level of ethics while having a proven track record of developing strong working relationships with fellow employees
