Job Description

Manpower Engineering is partnering with a global industry leader in molded components and assemblies for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, that is currently hiring for a NPD Estimating Engineer to join their talented team.

The NPD Estimating Engineer will work in a cross functional team environment to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes to determine itemized lists of material and labor requirements for New Product Development and operations in the Visual system.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

* Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.

* Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

* Confer with engineers, customers, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

* Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

* Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.

* Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.

* Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.


* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related area of focus.

* Minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing/process development environment within the medical device industry.

* Strong knowledge and first-hand experience in Silicone and Plastic components.

* Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and projects.

* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate customer needs and production capabilities.

* Proficient in PC, Word Processing, Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets, Blueprint Reading, SPC, SQC pack, and design of methodology.

* Demonstrated communication skills for making persuasive presentations to peers, subordinates, management, and customers.

* Knowledge of ISO 13485 standards and standard Medical Device QMS.

* Knowledge of ISO 14971 Risk Management standards a plus.
