Job Description


My client, located near New Castle, DE, is looking for someone with prior data center facility or refinery support experience. We are looking for the right person that has prior experience working within OHSA or NFPA 70E guidelines. The right person will understand uninterruptible power and critical electrical distribution systems.

The role is based on rotating 12-hour shifts, 7AM to 7PM and 7PM to 7AM. Every other weekend required.

Essential Functions

* Candidates should be comfortable working in a mission critical data center environment and must be willing and able to learn critical electrical systems, mechanical systems, Fire alarm and suppression systems, building control systems and preventative maintenance programs. This position is responsible for safe reliable operations on a 24/7 facility maintaining Service Level Agreements, customer service requests, and responding to abnormal conditions or equipment status alarms. IT awareness of servers, network and peripheral equipment a plus.

* Maintain documentation such as power diagrams, space usage, procedures, regulatory and PM completions

* Tours building critical building areas including data centers, telephony, and main electrical, mechanical and riser rooms and fire and security panels.

* Monitor all building systems and mission critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the raised floor environment

* Provide critical site support by responding to alerts and alarms via the site-based building automated monitoring and control systems.

* Support the day to day support operations of the building; shipping and receiving, general cleaning, restocking, painting, lightbulb replacement, roof top equipment cleaning support, overall general support.

* Respond to general and emergency alarm notification via the sites building control system

* Perform work order tasks in support of the building requirements; general equipment inspections and tasks

* Create documentation in support of engineering preventive maintenance or corrective action tasks

* Stay up to date of all emergency procedures

* Able to operate a personal computer using Windows, Excel and Word

* Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools * Strong written, oral, and technical knowledge

* Demonstrated the ability to follow technical tasks procedures

* Familiar with creating procedures supporting critical facility infrastructure

* Manage vendor activities, monitor progress to ensure objectives are achieved

* Interprets instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form

* Good written and verbal communication skills Other Functions

* Complies with all written company and regional company policies

Education And Experience

Associate's degree, Industrial Technology, trade school certification or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

* Ability to work 24/7/365 4/3/3/4 12-hour schedule with 2-month rotation

* Interprets instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form

* Communicates essential information needed for decision making

* Strong written, oral, and technical knowledge

* Ability to become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various equipment or processes at location Physical Requirements
