Recruiting for Operations Officer (Capital Market/ trade life-cycle) role for one of the leading Bank in Canada.

What is the job?

* Oversight and management of various complex reconciliations as part of the month end certification process.

o Continuous monitoring of break investigation, accurate break assignment, distribution, reporting and exceptions impacting reconciliations - ensure that root cause is understood and analyzed for escalation, tracked and resolved.

o Assist in driving continuous improvement of the current state reconciliations and investigation model service level agreements (SLA)

* Analyze current state reconciliation controls process and perform root cause analysis for any breaks and gaps in process, including but not limited to:

* Assist in driving change and solutions for all identified root causes.

o Take a risk-based approach in applying innovative solutions to unique problems in differing lines of business

o Liaise and drive change between multiple stakeholders (Technology, Business Architecture, Operations, Wealth Business lines etc.) to get end resolution

o Recommend and summarize improvements to executives and senior leadership

* Business Analysis:

o Participate in projects supporting a broad range of data driven solutions by applying a variety of techniques to build our models.

o Support the team by providing analytic and insights to recommend actions that will enable optimal business decisions and/or resolves complex business problems. Identify opportunities to drive business growth and value.

* Business Intelligence:

o Provide data visualization support by employing various techniques to support the business in communicating Reconciliations breaks, implications and /or recommendations to the business.

o Design/develop dashboards and scorecards to support business needs; ensure alignment of metrics across the organization



What do you bring to the job?

* Majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Data Analytic, or a related field.

* 3 years + relevant experience

* Advanced working knowledge of VBA Macros, Alteryx workflows, Python, SQL programming and/or other programming languages is a requirement

* Working knowledge with Tableau.

* A general understanding of market environments and the trading business.

* Strong data analysis skills in sorting through large amounts of data and to produce usable metrics

* A broad understanding of the trade lifecycle and other upstream processes that impact settlement

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to work with excel to analyze data

* Nice to have CDS / DTC system knowledge

* HTML experience will be an asset: 2 years
