Job Description


The following list includes the type and scope of work as part of this job. Team members are responsible for personal development and progression of skill levels through Level 4 of their home department. Level 5 candidates will be selected by management. Team members are required to become proficient Level 3 at a minimum in two other departments.

Level 5 - Team Leader/Subject Matter Expert (SME)/T

* Supervisor in training.

* SME in all aspects.

* Model of Gibbs ideal Team Member.

* Completed all internal level and external training.

* Lead continuous improvement teams and activities.

* Train and monitor training activities.

* Lead production activities required to meet production goals.

Level 4 - Self Directed

* Performs job independently. (Operator preventative maintenance, production processes, setups, minor repair, cleaning, production trouble shooting, resolve quality issues)

* Complete all previous internal level and external training requirements.

* Exhibit Gibbs team member values.

* Train or monitor training activities.

Level 3 - Proficient

* Hired on by Gibbs - no longer working through any other agency.

* Actively pursue training towards Level 4 completion within one year of reaching Level 3.

* Operate equipment independently (Operator preventative maintenance, production processes, quality, inspection, setup).

* Train as requested.

Level 2 - Functional or Effex

* Actively pursue training towards Level 3 completion within six months of reaching Level 2.

* Operate equipment during breaks.

* Complete training for Production Processes.

* Complete training for quality inspections.

* Complete training for setups.

* Complete training for preventative maintenance.

* Complete training for reporting.

* Participate in continuous improvement teams.

Level 1 - Entry or Effex

* Actively pursue training towards Level 2 completion within six months of reaching level 1.

* Team member is required to wear a safety harness when climbing above four feet. Team member should NOT use a safety harness until they have had the required Fall Protection-Harness Specific Training.

* Complete training for 7-S.

* Able to lift 50lbs continuously for the duration of both 8-hour and 12-hour shifts.

* Meet all physical and environmental requirements.

* Able to work weekends and overtime as required.

* Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to established Gibbs 7-S Guidelines.

* Follow all aspects of Safety as described in Gibbs Safety Roles and Expectations.

* Follows all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.

* Performs other duties as assigned my management.
