Manpower is looking for a part-time temporary Student Career Counselor for a University in Durham, NC! In this position, you will advise and counsels students concerning employment opportunities and careers. Encourages employers to recruit campus graduates. Conducts individual and group sessions to inform students of services, policies, and procedures and to provide assistance in resume preparation and interviewing techniques. Serves as liaison between employers and students; administers and coordinates activities associated with the campus interview program. Coordinates production of job opportunities bulletin and refers students to prospective employers.
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Office for Career Services provides assistance to students and alumni through career services education and professional development through a multi-pronged approach.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
* Job Development/Marketing Outreach
* Assists with the development of creative initiatives for marketing and promoting the School of Law to employers, students and alumni.
* Identifies additional employers for outreach in designated strategic geographic areas.
* Assists with planning and implementing strategies that encourage employers to hire our law school students and alumni.
* Conducts employer visits locally, regionally, statewide, and nationally.
* Solicits additional on-campus interviewers/employers
* Information Gathering and Dissemination
* Assists with compilation of employment data for the annual ABA and NALP surveys.
* Assists with compilation of employment (e.g. law clerk/internship/summer associate)data for other collection purposes including, but not limited to, internal reporting.
* Assists with the expansion of employer database.
Minimum Education/Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2-3 years' related experience
This position is part-time at 20 hours a week.
