Job Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the manufacturing facility including its EHS performance, production, quality control, cost management, maintenance, labor relations, customer satisfaction, logistics, regulatory compliance and developing and maintaining a high performing team to meet company objectives. Advances safety as a priority. Assumes a lead role in driving safety performance in the facility. Works with team members to ensure necessary actions are taken to avoid preventable incidents and occurrences. Assures a safe working environment for employees and environmental compliance. Proactively attempts to prevent all accidents and eliminate all unsafe conditions and demonstrates management's commitment to safety. Accountable for the overall OSHA, EEOC and environmental compliance of the plant. Recommends and implements overall manufacturing strategies consistent with the business objectives. Leads cultural change efforts and continuous improvement practices to drive and improve the competitiveness of plant operations. This includes leading problem-solving efforts. Works with plant operational teams to establish focus areas for the plant to set expectations for plant Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). Is responsible for ensuring that there are plans in place to meet those goals. Establishes measurable goals/objectives that support the overall manufacturing strategy and performance measures for each department. Accountable for the execution and compliance to the overall quality systems and certifications of the Plants. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and the implementation of quality systems processes used in the nutritional and food industries. Works with internal and external customers, and quality assurance function as necessary, to ensure requirements are met. Develops annual operating plan/budgets and continuously reviews the plan compliance with respect to production, yields and fixed costs. Answers variances from the plan. Works with the Operations and Business Leadership teams to develop strategy, annual operating, and other business plans. Develops the capital budget and ensures project execution and spending against the plan. Participates in scope design and project execution as needed. Oversees the management of raw material, production schedules, finished product inventories and logistics of shipments. Champions continuous improvement. Manages the engagement, performance, and development of the staff.



BS Chemical Engineering, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field required. Operations Management Experience desired: Manufacturing experience with various production management roles. Experience within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment to include knowledge of safety, cGMP practices, production, and quality. Familiar with ISO 9001, SQF, and other manufacturing benchmark requirements.



Labor Relations experience preferred. Ability to maximize production, reduce costs, motivate staff, and develop and maintain best in class manufacturing facility. High level of skill and capability with understanding process flows, process operations and equipment, process capabilities, and product quality requirements
