Job Description
* Maintain a safe and sustainable working environment leading continual improvement efforts following defined processes within our integrated management system compliant with global ISO 45001and ISO 14001 standards.
* Establish, monitor and report on overall plant performance for safety, production, quality and compliance standards.
* Direct and manage plant-manufacturing operations for EHS, production, maintenance, engineering, and production control including shipping and receiving within company policies, processes and procedures.
* Responsible for meeting and reporting plant performance against corporate goals related to safety, quality, productivity and customer service.
* Set and monitor team manager's goals supporting corporate goals and objectives. Provides direction, training, development and leadership for operations team managers.
* Responsible for compliance with plant policies and/or procedures that pertain to current and future manufacturing operations and/or processes.
* Develop and maintain a well-trained and motivated workforce by collaborating with staff and other department leaders and/or managers to ensure meeting staffing and training needs.
* Collaborate with commercial, customer service, and supply chain leaders to ensure the plant meets the need for efficient and timely production and shipment of quality products.
* Conduct employee performance reviews for direct reports. Mentor employee to help them develop individual and/or team goals to support corporate goals. Periodically monitor individual goals to ensure progress and/or need for course correction.
* Attend daily plant production and weekly engineering meetings; ensure information critical to the operation of the plant is communicated.
* Develop capital investment plans to support safety, growth, plant efficiency, compliance and quality. Develop annual operating budgets for areas of responsibility.
* Coordinate timely plant activities through collaborative planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished.
* Implement effective systems of cost control over capital and operating expenditures.
* Oversee the management of capital asset maintenance including EAM software. Ensures preventative maintenance programs are robust and support plant safety and operational goals.
* Responsible for implementation and execution of plant floor 5S program ensuring a safe, orderly, clean and sustainable facility.
* Attend and contribute to Overall Business and/or Business Unit Meetings when required.
Required:
Degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with experience as a plant manager in an extrusion and compounding facility preferred. Direct experience and/or certification with/in the following areas is strongly desired.
* Technology of plastics compounding and extrusion including TSE's and reciprocating co-kneader technology.
* LSS Green Belt or Black Belt.
* Experience with integrated management systems including ISO9001, 45001 and 14001.
* Working knowledge with ERP and EAM software.
* Working knowledge of safety and environmental laws.
* Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
