Job Description

Job Summary

This position provides guidance within the startup of the customer-owned molds at facilities. This position provides the tooling engineering expertise to assure optimum outcome. Work is performed with a high degree of independence yet teamwork with cross-functional groups will be critical to assure success. Work performed will be subject to review by the Technical Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Coordinate and oversee the fabrication and qualification of new tools.

2. Maintain detailed progress reports (timelines) for the customer and for the Program Manager and Technical Manager.

3. Make every effort to ensure tools are delivered to the customer on time.

4. Work closely with the Quality Control Department and the customer to develop inspection methods and sampling plans to ensure that all products and processes conform to the customer requirements.

5. Support Production processes, tools and ideas to prevent recurrent issues and repairs.

6. Lead or Support existing production tooling design changes when needed.

7. Create estimates and proposals for new and existing business by understanding our internal and external customers CTQ requirement.

8. Work closely with customers and suppliers to develop specifications to ensure that all estimates conform to requirements.

9. Analyze, understand and document all the risks associated with new products/processes.

10. Perform Gap analysis on new drawings, models provided by the customer during initial development of tools in a timely manner.

11. Develop a project timeline/schedule to be used during development for Program Manager.

12. Facilitate expeditious and accurate processing of each estimate.

13. Retain organized records and background information for all estimates to assure accuracy and consistency of estimates and proposals.

14. Continually improve skills by taking appropriate training courses as necessary

15. Work with Process Engineers to develop and create new EOA for new projects or production projects.
