Job Description

Do you have experience in the Swine and Pork industry? Do you want to work for a company that is leading the industry in biotechnology and nutraceutical? Our NW Iowa Client has an immediate and exciting opening for a Pork Business Development Representative.



The Pork Business Development Representative generates revenue by developing market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales; recommending new products and finding ways to grow current product sales. This position also supports the CEO through attending Pork exchange and similar events. Conduct follow up on the leads acquired through these events.



Essential Job Responsibilities



The essential job responsibilities consist of the following:



Sales



-Sell products in the pork sector.



-Become an expert of all new products as requested per Director of Sales.



-Initiate calls to new customers to create sales.



-Call on existing and prospective customers within the framework of a business development call program.



-Discuss customer needs, problems, complaints, and arrange meetings between customers or prospective customers and representatives of various company functional areas.



-Document calls and results and make reports to management as required.



-Expand sales in existing accounts - introduce new products and educate new applications.



-Achieve the established sales metrics as determined by supervisor.



-Strive to meet goals set by the Director of Sales.



-Increase sales as determined by direct supervisor.



-Engage in sales activities - majority of sales originating via phone or on-site visit; coupled with email, mail, text, and fax.



-Grow distributor relations and sales activities.



-Compile and analyze information in CRM with current distribution and sales contacts. Make recommendations as appropriate.



-Maintain CRM database with client information, sales stage processes and client opportunities, including distribution relationships and contacts.



-Act on and achieve individual goals in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.



-Represent the company in civic and various community/marketing functions for enhancement of its image and business development.



Qualification Requirements

Education, Reasoning Ability & Experience



A minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in direct sales or customer operations is required.



Associate degree in business or animal health field preferred.



Related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience considered.
