Job Description
Our client, a well-known multinational company that produces fire, HVAC, and security equipment for buildings, is seeking a Press Brake Machine Operator to join their team. As a Machine Operator, you will be part of the team setting up equipment, operating machines and checking die. Ideal candidates will have a great attitude, good communication, and ability to work well in a team environment which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Press Brake Machine Operator
Location: Norman, OK
Pay: $21-$22.50 per hour
What’s the Job?
- Set-up equipment, tooling and controls. Operate machine to fabricate specified sheet metal parts within very close tolerances.
- Basic computer operating skills.
- Work from blue prints in MES.
- Determine correct starting points and sequence of bends for indicated operations.
- Determine from blue print drawing in MES, length of dies needed for type of bend, and position dies in machine.
- Check die specified for material suitability for material thickness.
- Set shut height, set controls and adjust or change fingers as required.
- Set stops and adjust to compensate as required for variations in material and preceding operations.
- Position piece parts to stops and perform the prescribed sequence of operations to bend, form, and flatten, etc., to numerous sizes and thicknesses of sheet metal.
- Have a second set of eyes sign off on the production log and or MES for the first set up part for correctness. Check every twentieth part for dimension, squareness, and angular dimensions to match the print.
What is needed? - Steel toe shoes
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to stand, stoop, squat, bend, and lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to use basic hand tools and read/interpret blueprints
- Ability to understand, read and communicate in English
