Job Description
Manpower is actively seeking a Process Engineer for a long term contract in Calgary AB.
Responsibilities: Within the production department, the process engineer pilot and oversees: - The initial manufacturing (demonstrators, prototypes) with product engineering department - The industrialization of new products to achieve the objectives required by the clients customers in terms of quality, costs and deadlines. - The continues improvement for the production (Lean approach)
o Participate to the project risk analysis for process items.
o Participate to the design review with product engineering department to consider the industrial constraints.
o Build the industrial strategy in term of flow chart, make or buy study, process validation plan, maturity process design, …)
o Define the assembly time for sub assembly and product
o Pilot the design and the implementation of the process in the factory (equipment, test bench, stocker …) in accordance to the flow chart.
o Build the industrial folder (BOM, process flow, Control sheet, Process specifications)
o Train the production team for the ramp-up phase.
o Participate to the transfer to the suppliers in accordance to the MoB study
o Realize the « First article inspection » (FAI) in collaboration with quality department
Analyse, identify and pilot the actions plan for the ramp-up of the production. (capacity, productivity)
o Realize technical studies to improve the robustness of the process (R&R, capability, process key parameters, …)
o Build the process validation plan
o Identify process key parameters with impact on the product characteristics and how control/monitor them.
o Build the technical specification and investment request document for new equipment.
o Identify the improvement actions list with the saving and the budget associated
o Chose, apply and train the teams on the client toolbox:
o Participate to the standardization of our processes, design and tools.
o Participate to the optimization of the manufacturing documentation
o Participate to the "Help Chain" process consider the manufacturing support needs coming from the daily meeting
Qualifications:
Engineer with electromechanics / mechatronics skills, you have at minimum 3-5 years of experience in the production of small series, with good knowledge on:
o Electrical engineering and experience in the manufacture of electric motors (winding, wiring, impregnation, etc.)
o Mechanics (assembly process, machining process, ISO measurement, tool design, etc.)
o Materials (over molding resin, glue, etc.)
o Construction of industrial file and management of BOM / ERP range
o Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, TOC or other lean tools:
▪ 5S, Daily Management, Manufacturing Layout …
▪ Problem solving tools (8D, DMAIC, PDCA ...)
▪ Multi Flow approach (Material, People, Process, Equipment, Finish Goods, Information, Engineering)
▪ Handling Material Flow (Picking, KANBAN, …)
o Tool design (2D/3D study) and follow the realization by suppliers
o Ergonomic and safety rules, standard skills
o Manufacturing knowledge
o Proficient in Microsoft office tools especially Excel
o Excellent written and verbal communication.
o Able to be flexible and multitask
o Excellent team participation skills and ability to work with people from diversified backgrounds
