Job Description

The Process Engineer's main missions are to optimize economical performance of processes.

Ensure the best productivity standards (Batch duration (manufacturing, packaging). Ensure the best yield of process (waste production and energy consumption). Ensure that manufacturing execution is as close as possible to standards (lost time tracking). Reduce as much as possible required human resources to manufacture (Automation, people training).

* Liaise with maintenance team to coordinate maintenance operations ( both corrective and proactive) ,

* Assist the Manufacturing manager in the day to day operation with the production shifts : Planning of workflow, production sequences..

* Launch , edit and review, close out production or packaging records

* Assist the Manufacturing Manager with select capital investment projects

* Assist the Manufacturing Manager in analyzing assigned production process, schedule, and methods.

Reports to the Manufacturing Manager. This position requires significant functional interactions with the Senior Process Development Engineer.

* Define the best achievable batch durations (Batch Standard), in conjunction with the Senior Process Development Engineer for units 10,11,12 and 15.

* Propose and qualify process modifications to improve upon those standards.

* Build a bottleneck map of processes

* Propose investments for debottlenecking units (technical definition and impact quantification)

* Define in ERP the labor and machine hours (Bill of Routing)

* Liaise with Finance controlling team to build once or twice a year the updated BOR for standard costs for each of the products manufactured in the different unit

* To improve processes to ensure a good capability

* To build a Utility Map (energy and water) of the plant.

* To propose and qualify process modifications targeting waste production and utility consumptions.

* To identify all process losses

* To propose and follow an action plan to reduce main losses and increase process duration reliability.

* To organize team work on C-imp (Continuous Improvement Air Liquide Lean program).

* To propose investments to increase reliability.

* To evaluate operator tasks on process.

* To propose modifications (technical, organizational) to reduce required human resources to operate.

* To participate in process safety studies (HAZOP) when needed

* To collaborate and validate process changes (with Senior Process Development Engineer)

* To collaborate and validate process equipment changes (with the Senior Process Development Engineer).

* To participate in the C02 carbon footprint calculations and to propose ideas to reduce it

* To collaborate with and support Senior Process Development Engineer when appropriate

* To cover the appropriate Senior Process Development Engineer's duties as needed (vacations/Holidays


* Capacity to operate in a team

* Scientific (Bachelor level minimum, master preferred): in chemical engineering (equipment sizing, automation) and good basis in chemistry.
