Job Description

* Facilitates contract mgt lifecycle including contract execution in adherence with global standard and proper documentation of active agreements. Ensures procurement and contractual activities are handled in a professional/ethical manner and confidentiality of commercial information is always maintained.Ensures the appropriate level of financial controls are in place which enable the end user to carry out their work effectively and efficiently. Implements supply arrangements that min. inventory levels without impairing avail or quality. Negotiates acquisition of goods and services required for company activities at optimum cost, in compliance with company procedures and consistent with standards of quality & delivery. Ensures contract terms and conditions are kept up to date and minimizes commercial risk. Provides advice and where appropriate accesses professional legal advice on matters that are of a contractual nature or that may expose the company to financial or legal risk. Facilitates training/knowledge transfer to the organization about procurement policies to ensure adherence to protect from liability & unnecessary cost. Ensures employee and contractor compliance policies, procedures and applicable standards. Ensures all regional procedures are compliant with Global Standards. Reviews and approves procurement procedure deviations at the regional level. Develops and actively manages key performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of purchasing and warehouse performance. Develops and manages similar metrics for individual performance. Ensures that the appropriate software and tools are in place to foster efficiency of processes. Develops business cases for process improvement, manages intradepartmental process improvement projects and participates in interdepartmental proc improvement projects as required. Manages Inventory and Material Management systems to ensure that the warehouse is stocked appropriately to ensure plant reliability while balancing low cost and quality deliverables. Ensures back up in the Warehouse(s) during periods of absence. Provides service as required by the SMT to dispose of surplus and/or obsolete equipment. Facilitates Purchasing and Warehouse activity mgt in alignment with the strategic turnaround plan and other site project initiatives. Ensures implementation of the Business Plan. Provides regular mentoring, coaching and development to team members. Ensures technical skills of all staff are maintained at an adequate level to effectively support the business. Ensures employee and contractor compliance policies, procedures and applicable standards. Participates in the KMI system on site and works to complete/resolve any delegated action items. Develops and actively manages the annual department plan, team goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). Provides leadership around best procurement and contract management practices and systems. Ensures proactive engagement with external departments to understand site activities, impacts to procurement and to consult on how procurement can support site activities.


* Degree or Certification in Business Management, Finance, or other related discipline preferred, OR, a combination of combined education/work exp. Certified Professional designation through an accredited body would be an asset. 10 years experience in Contract Administration and Procurement, preferably within a Chemical Manufacturing environment. Knowledge of warehouse procedures and computerized procurement/stores/maintenance Asset Management Systems (i.e. Maximo). Strong leadership & presentation skills. Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills.
