Job Description
We are seeking and experienced Production Manager to fulfill a 6 - 9 month contract in Stayner, ON. The Finishing & Packaging Production Manager will oversee the production teams and activities, keep accurate records of production levels, and provide solutions to incidents that could impact production.
What you'll be doing:
* Responsible for providing leadership; instilling a sense of urgency; and driving problems towards resolution
o Ensuring proper quality information is being used for each part produced.
o Ensuring that the IPC quality checks, first-off, SWI, WI, and LPA procedures are being followed on each shift.
o Attending meetings in support of all Program-related activities
o Setting and achieving specific goals around Lean Manufacturing principles
o Ensuring that conflict and productivity issues are managed directly, constructively, and professionally in all circumstances.
o Lead and manage production Team Members including resource planning; training; and performance management.
o Supervision of sanitation program requirements within assigned areas
* Coordination of tasks for daily production
* Production KPI related report out, creating, managing, and reporting corrective action plan vs actual results.
* Employee reviews and discipline as required.
* Control inventory within the department
* Ensure enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements and maintaining compliance with the laws and regulations related to medical cannabis.
* Perform regular workplace inspections. Perform accident investigation. Correct unsafe acts or conditions. Train new/transferred/temporary employees on safe method of conducting their job. Correct or commend Health & Safety performance.
* Perform, direct and/or carry out any reasonable assignments required by Management.
Your Environment:
* Work environment can be warm and humid, similar to a greenhouse environment.
* Lifting up to 50 lbs. on regular basis.
* Standing & walking for long periods of time.
* Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
You'll need to have:
* 3 - 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
* Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in a related environment, preferred.
* Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
* Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical abilities
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Sound computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use (Microsoft Excel and Access)
* Proven leadership ability (previous supervisory experience)
* Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset
* Thorough knowledge and experience in packaging procedures would be considered an asset
* Able to supply acceptable Criminal Record Check
* Able to support overtime and weekend work at short notice
