What's the job?

As a Production Supervisor, you will be part of a team of Supervisors responsible for the site and will be responsible for current and future manufacturing performance (safety, quality, and efficiency of either the Refinery or Packaging operation) using the WCM operating framework. Direct responsibility for all Hourly Production Employees, and all hourly employees on off-shifts. Additionally, the Supervisor will work on continuous improvement projects both individually and on teams.



Who You Are & What You'll Do



* Accountable for general supervisory coverage for all shifts.

* Managing manufacturing activities during the designated shift by leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, quality, efficiency and cost.

* Protection of employee's health and safety by meeting legislative requirements, providing instruction in regard to safety procedures and ensuring compliance of all regulatory and plant safety rules.

* Develops plans and activities to meet plant and PDP targets, which include but are not limited to, 3+1 targets, functional responsibilities and other projects that are established for cost reduction, yield improvements and efficiency gains.

* Accountable for the productivity of the site during off-shifts. Includes provision of some technical expertise, contacting appropriate resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage, monitoring general performance and behaviour of employees, and adjusting crewing or call-in replacements as necessary.

* Maintaining good union-management relations by ensuring correct administration of the Collective Agreement and use of a proactive problem-solving approach.

* Provide leadership and support to WCM mission and ensure that objectives are met and returns on investment are evident.

* Facilitate required training programs to employees. (SHE, WCM, QA, etc.)

* Controlling fixed and variable cost expenditures.

* Support quality and food safety programs including HACCP and FSSC-22000.

* Participate and / or support in the Internal and External Audits



What You'll Need to Succeed:



* The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing a safety culture, high speed packaging, food manufacturing, GMP, HACCP, and union relations

* Mindset and vision to lead change management initiatives

* Minimum five years of experience within a manufacturing environment

* A solid foundation and background of production procedures is required

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with SAP is an asset.
