Job Description

Monday - Friday First Shift schedule, 8 hours a day, with occasional OT and/or weekend work



Candidates must have valid driver's license and have their own vehicle, from time to time will be required to drive to different facilities



Duties



Program Support



Supervise and assist with room set-ups for meetings, meals, and events



Set up and operate AV equipment, if needed



Coordinate with catering staff for services, schedule and/or meal count changes that occur during events



Keep the Director of Conferences and Administration and/or Manager of Public Programs apprised of any issues or concerns that arise during their respective events



Manage the inventory of household goods and keep administrative staff informed of needs



Establish a rapport with catering staff, and other regular vendors who provide services



Hospitality and Housekeeping



Provide concierge services for guests including welcoming and greeting guests, including maintaining professional rapport with guests, responding to guest inquiries and problem-solving guest related concerns as they arise.



Orient conference and public program staff to the facilities available in the building.



Attend to safety and precautionary measures such as turning on lights, reporting matters as they arise, etc. Perform general housekeeping tasks, as necessary, and ensure all areas including meeting and event spaces, the kitchen, storage spaces, and bathrooms are always kept clean and in compliance with standards.



Supervise part-time housekeeping staff at events



During events, check bathrooms periodically to ensure they are kept cleaned and stocked with guest towels



Skills and Abilities



Minimum of five year's experience working in a conference center or events environment



Use computers to efficiently accomplish work, using e-mail, the Internet, and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.



Excellent organizational skills and proficient written and verbal skills



Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, detail oriented, and ability to prioritize



Ability to work in a high paced and pressured environment



Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to be consistently diplomatic, tactful, and professional, and to interact effectively with all levels of staff, guests, and other external parties



Sound judgment and discretion when working with sensitive and confidential information



Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime.



Ability to attend to moving, lifting, pushing, pulling heavy items, as needed.



Housekeeping abilities, including some knowledge of Green practices and products.



Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies and familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.



Education and Experience

Associates degree, or its equivalency, with a minimum of five years of experience working in a conference center or events environment.



Ability to pass background check and drug screening
