Job Description

SUMMARY Analyze problems, design and develop solutions on IBM i mainly using RPGILE & CLLE languages. Maintain/modify existing applications written in RPG IV and prior.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



* Full involvement and responsibility in system development cycle including requirement study, analysis and design, code development/implementation, testing and documentation.



* Responsible for evaluation, design, code and implementation of development projects.



* Responsible for the full-scale system test on development/enhancements and to put approved source codes, files and objects into production.



* Responsible for the quality of all assigned projects to ensure all necessary documentation are professionally prepared, kept and filed.



* Responsible to maintain software applications.



* Ensure operational requirements have been met and to make recommendations for improvements.



* Act upon trends in support issues that may require systems attention or training.



* Provide support and expertise to end users.



* Responsible for answers to user queries on applications.



* Undertakes such other responsibilities which are not specifically herein but would logically be part of the function of the Programmer/Analyst.



EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



Degree or Diploma in Computer Programming. Solid 2 to 4 years experience in development of IBM iSeries using RPGILE/CLLE. Asset to have Free Format RPG programming experience and basic knowledge of SQL, HTML, FTP, Microsoft Word/Excel, Windows Operating System, Web Browsers.



Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Excellent command of spoken and written English.
