Project Manager (Engineering and Construction)

Manpower has an immediate opening for a Project Manager (Engineering and Construction) for our client located in Richmond, BC.

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000/year + Benefits

What is the job?

* Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and evaluating various construction projects for the assigned region.

* Manage the overall performance of team members, ensuring that deliverables are met according to schedule, specifications and budget.

* Partner closely with relevant stakeholders to finalize all design analyses and ensure that all project drawings and standardized prototypes are compatible and accurate.

* Prepare cost estimation for new build, remodel and minor store upgrading projects.

* Manage contract tendering, cost evaluation, budget control, facility and equipment selection.

* Review and keep track on all construction and design documents including drawings, recommend appropriate changes and revisions according to local, state and federal codes.

* Resolve any project issues that may arise in a timely and professional manner.

* Participate and lead the development of policies and procedures for construction projects.

* Perform any ad hoc other duties as assigned by upper management.

What do you bring to the job?

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field is preferred.

* Possess a minimum of 7 years' experience in building engineering or in the construction industry, preferably in the design of supermarkets or retail development.

* Solid project management experience including developing and managing schedules, cost estimation and control, and development of corporate policies and procedures.

* Familiar with local stipulations and legal compliances.

* Possess strong problem-solving ability and able to lead and motivate other team members.

* Strong leadership and planning capability, as well as superior organizational skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

* Ability to interpret and read blueprints and other technical documents.

* Mechanical and electrical knowledge, and ability to work with AutoCAD design software is an asset.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management)

* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

* Ability to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset.

* Possess a valid driver's license with ability to travel as required.
