Job Description

Position Description:

* Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.

* Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining requisition approval from requisitioning department.

* Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.

* Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.

* Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.

* Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.

* Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.

* Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

* Receive maintenance supplies and inventory them into their required locations.

* Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

* Crate and Control inventory locations and quantities. Work with suppliers to help hold and control inventory.

* Work with vendors to provide in house training on maintenance Best Practices and Tools to become more efficient.

* Manage and Assign Work Orders with our CMMS. Keep our maintenance staff assigned with priority tasking.

* Update job knowledge in these areas by participating in educational opportunities or training.





Education:

* High School diploma or equivalent

* Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English



Experience:

* Minimum of three years of experience as a clerk or purchasing agent

* Some experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

* Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner







Skills/Attributes:

* Must be able to work as a team and independently according to verbal and written instructions

* Must have strong computer skills, including company systems and purchasing systems

* Supply Management, Tracking Budget Expenses, Vendor Relationships, Organization, Customer Service, Documentation Skills, Supply Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Cost Accounting, Control Engineering

* Time Management -- Managing one's own time and the time of others.
