Job Description

Position Summary:

Quality Technician I is the entry level Quality Technician position. Quality Technician I completes the measurements of performance against quality and food safety standards. Safety and proper GMP's are practiced in all areas of work. The technician is responsible for the entirety of their line from mixing through packaging.

Principal Responsibilities:

* Demonstrated analytical and technical capabilities, leadership skills, and good communication skills, including written, electronic, and verbal

* Ability to quickly learn and comply with Company safety, quality, Good Manufacturing, and other required policies and procedures.

* Performs package evaluations on finished packages that may include: Integrity, Appearance and Functionality, Atmosphere, Codes and Dates, UPC and label correctness, Performs product evaluations on finished products that may include: Breakage, Salts and Component ratios, Flavor, odor, texture and appearance

* Measurement Recording and Communications and maintains records of findings and highlights non-conformance

* Informs Operators, Mechanics, Line Leaders and Managers of issues

* Assures Food Safety, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices compliance throughout facility

* Verification of metal detection program and x-ray program compliance

* Validates accuracy of measurements and equipment for quality measurement

* Evaluates palletized product leaving department for compliance to all standards

* Assures information for actions and standards are available and communicated to all staff that require it to make informed decisions and minimum defects

* Identifies and acts to prevent unacceptable product shipment to customer

* Check and verify label stock

* Assures accurate formulation and components and verifies package compliance to standards for appearance and performance

* Tests and verifies ingredients are correct grade, standard, appearance, chemical/ physical/microbiological compliant and sensory attributes are met

* Develop and maintain a TEAM oriented atmosphere and can-do attitudes among peers.


* Minimum 0-1 years of experience in work requiring strong attention to detail, mathematics, and/or quality assurance functions, preferably food packaging/processing.

Physical Activity / Working Conditions

Standing for long periods of time; lifting up to 50lbs.; exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection. Exposure to and or use of tools and/or work activities that may require various forms of PPE.
