Job Description

The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in the company by ensuring that products meet high standards of customer satisfaction. The Quality Engineer will plan, direct, implement and coordinate quality assurance programs and formulate quality control policies; ensure that processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are implemented and maintained; ensures feedback to relevant functions such as supplier quality and engineering to improve quality of products.

Duties include but are not limited to utilize and coordinate resources in order to:

* Ensure that the Quality Management System (ISO-9001:2015) meets all standards and is effective

by planning and conducting internal audits as well as coordinating surveillance audits.

* Support and validate product certifications (UL, CE, etc.) as applicable.

* Implements standard and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.

* Work closely with the customer base and monitor data of returned goods to record, report, analyze and resolve quality issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions where necessary.

* Measure, monitor, report and reduce company's cost of quality.

* Ensure/enable feedback and interact with supplier quality to manage vendor defects in order to drive corrective actions and root cause analysis.

* Review in process data from manufacturing processes and facilitate corrective and preventive actions as appropriate.

* Provide feedback to engineering regarding design processes to improve quality and reliability.

* Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over material, facilities, and products.


* Reports directly to the Director of Operational Excellence.

* 2 direct reports (Quality inspectors).


* Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred.

* At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a quality related field.

* Ability to create, review and understand technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents.

* Able to develop, collect, review, analyze and maintain quality metrics.

* Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

* Availability to work extended hours as needed.

* Excellent time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities.

* Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

* Superb organization and record keeping skills.

* Keen sense of accuracy with close attention to detail.

* High level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

* Good work ethic with a positive, productive approach.

* Computer skills including Microsoft Office. Statistical analysis Software a plus.

* ASQ certification preferred.
