Millwright – Surrey, BC
Are you a skilled Millwright looking for your next great career move? Our client is looking for Millwrights for their lumber mill located in Surrey, BC.

What are the job responsibilities?
Responsible for daily maintenance work and personal safety.
Answer whistles and radio calls as promptly as possible to make repairs to maintain mill flow with all regards to safety; time periods between are spent repairing cylinders, valves and other related equipment in the millwright shop.
Maintain machinery and equipment in good repair to allow for effective mill flow.
Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process.
Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processes.
Preventative and predictive maintenance programs for heavy machinery.
Use of hand tools and equipment (grinders, etc.) as required weighing between 5-25 lbs.
Work indoors, exposed to typical outdoor environmental temperatures, dust, vibration and noise within acceptable WCB Levels.
Other ad hoc duties as requested.

What do you bring to the job?
Journeyman and Red Seal Millwright certification is required
Previous Millwright experience is required.
Experience working in a lumber or sawmill is an asset.
Proficient communication in English is required.
Able to use all required personal protective equipment, including a respirator when needed.
Able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Able to read and follow safe work procedures.
Clear understanding of Metric and Imperial measures.
Adaptable to changing priorities, troubleshooting abilities and quick decision-making abilities.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Able to physically handle heavy materials safely and effectively. Record electronically or make notes
regarding repairs completed, repairs needing to be done or parts required to complete tasks.
