Job Description

Our client is a busy and fast-growing boutique litigation firm with offices in Ontario and British Columbia. They specialize in labour and employment law, as well as injury and disability litigation.

We are expanding and we need an outstanding person in the Ottawa area to help us grow.



We are looking for a legal assistant that is looking to learn, flourish, and become part of a very vibrant and friendly group. This position is full-time and suitable for a candidate with at least 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant particularly with regard to the civil litigation process, including the Rules of Civil Procedure, at the Ontario Superior Court and Small Claims Court levels. Experience in employment law would be considered an asset.



The ideal candidate will have:

* strong written and verbal communication skills

* excellent attention to detail

* keen organizational ability

* flexibility to work independently or as part of a team

* the ability to prioritize and meet urgent deadlines

We are looking for someone that is responsive, eager to learn, adaptable, and enjoys a fast-paced, and fun, environment. The right candidate will be someone who can assist with all administrative duties from filing and handling trust transactions to billing and binding, and is also very familiar with scheduling mediations, examinations, and pre-trials.

A requirement for remote working, you will need:

* A personal computer, whether Windows- or Mac-based;

* A phone; and,

* A home internet connection



The right candidate will be responsive, eager to learn, adaptable, and enjoys a fast-paced and fun environment. Typical duties range from filing and handling trust transactions to billing and binding, and scheduling mediations, examinations, and pre-trials. Civil litigation experience a must and employment law is an asset.
