General Description
1 To provide Engineering support to organization focusing on SMD Line robustness, prevention of customer defects, error proofing, and scrap reduction.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1 Perform engineering activities including but not limited to design, reliability and functions
2 Ability of related manufactured parts and components.
3 Supplier development activities.
4 Primary contact with customer design engineers.
5 Manage activities related to new part introduction including EWO.
6 Work with production facility to determine Root Cause Analysis of quality issues.
7 Assist in PPAP effort between SL Korea, SL Detroit, SL Clinton and supply base.
8 Development of the FTY (First Time Yield)
9 Design, development and control of process instructions
10 Design, development and control of visual aids
11 Design, development of fixtures, hand assist tools, work station
12 Design and validation of fixtures
13 Develop the line layout focusing on ergonomics, throughput, downtime, and maintenance
14 Balancing of lines due to change in requirements, using TPS tools
15 Organize the tests and validations on the line through release into production
16 Control of SPC in the line, stations must be repeatable
17 Design of the workstation layout
18 Maintenance of PFMEA's and Flow Charts
19 Provide support to the line in problem solving
20 Organize the required rework activities
21 Provide support in project coordination activities
22 Provide support and training to employees during launch and ramp up phases
23 Machine(facility) investment and installation
Work Experience
1 5 years or more experience in an engineering environment, with a strong background in Mechanical electrical engineering focus in automotive, lighting supplier experience is preferred
2 Previous Engineering experience required, preferably in an automotive environment.
Education
1 High School Diploma
2 College degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience and training.
3 5 Years or more experience in an engineering environment, with a strong background in SMD engineering focus on automotive, electronical supplier experience is preferred
