Sales Engineer







Position summary:



The ULS sales engineer is a champion and advocate for our ULTRA technology and plays a critical role in the "Industrial market" sales process while also providing technical knowledge and assistance to ULS GCAMs and Channel Partners. The sales engineer owns the technical aspect of the Industrial-market sales cycle through a variety of activities, such as demonstrating system capabilities, including software or application demonstrations. The sales engineer engages in pre-sales consulting with prospects while working with the AMPC to produce benchmark samples to meet customer requirements and to uncover additional applications of ULS technology to expand the value of ULTRA technology within the customer's business. Sales engineers continually collaborate with ULTRA customers (post-sale) to maximize ROI by assisting customers with new value-creating processes and usages of ULTRA laser material processing technology.



Responsibilities and duties:



* Ensures ULTRA customers have all information needed to make well-informed purchase decisions

* Works in tandem with GCAMs and Channel to sell across a wide variety of Industrial-market customers across key verticals (MedTech, Electronics, Aerospace/Defense, Automotive, Materials Manufacturers, Converters, Higher EDU R&D)

* Drives sales discovery in customer meetings to uncover prospect/customer business and technical requirements that map to ULS technology solutions

* Anticipates and overcomes technical objections to grow and accelerate sales opportunities and provide the right solution to our customers

* Demonstrates system capabilities, including software or application demonstrations

* Consults with customers to develop new usages and applications of ULTRA technology

* Trains Channel Partners such that they obtain a higher degree of technical proficiency and self-sufficiency

* Transfer knowledge to Channel Partner resources, while serving as their technical resource to drive sales opportunities forward



Education and qualification:



* Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering degree from ABET-accredited college or university

* 0-2 years of experience in technical sales or sales engineering

* Working knowledge and experience with CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.)

* Working knowledge of analytical instruments used in materials science and high precision machining

* Outstanding communicator (oral and written) toward a technical audience

* Ambition to work with end customers to solve their material processing and business problems

* Highly adaptable and able to work effectively with incomplete information

* Naturally inquisitive and outspoken

* Sound judgement and business sense

* Resilience and tenacity

* Teamworking ability
