POSITION SUMMARY



Our Transmission & Distribution global practice is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer to join our growing Distribution Modernization business in our Fort Worth office. This position will provide development and design services on 2.4 to 34.5kV overhead and underground utility distribution projects. This role requires the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize work. The position will be responsible for tackling an array of challenging items, including the drafting and design of engineering deliverables on multiple complex utility distribution projects. This position will be required to interface with utility clients and collaboration with multiple offices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



* This role is responsible for preparing and developing distribution voltage construction packages for both overhead and underground construction.

* Provide quality reviews of work prepared by others and adhere to the QA/QC process.

* Assist in the training and development of the Distribution Modernization team members.

* Experience includes knowledge of overhead and underground construction methods, knowledge of distribution system equipment, and utilization of field data and GIS information to aid in design.

* Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

* Performs work that involves conventional engineering practices but may involve a variety of complex features.

* Requires general knowledge of precedents in specialty areas and familiarity with basic principles and practices in related specialties.

* May coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments.

* This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving complex problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

* Apply strong knowledge of NESC standards and utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.











KEY COMPETENCIES



* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university.

* Minimum 7 years industry experience (completion of master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience), 4 or more years distribution experience preferred.

* Understanding of distribution power flow.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

* Must have experience with the production of distribution design and construction documents.

* Requires knowledge and experience working with the NESC code, as well as other industry codes and standards.

* Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
