Job Description

Our growing Oakville client who is a leader in the financial industry is looking for a Service Desk Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year related experience and will be responsible for the following:

The Service Desk technician will respond to incidents and requests in a timely manner and provide level one IT support to end users, including repair, replacement and installation of equipment, incident escalation and ticket resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

* Install, upgrade and support technical equipment including but not limited to: PCs, laptops, printers, copiers, scanners, mobile devices, video conferencing equipment

* Provide support for enterprise applications such as Office 365, Teams, Sophos Cloud, ManageEngine Desktop Central, Fortinet EMS, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and other desktop applications

* Perform software upgrades and installations

* Monitor corporate IT Help Desk, responding to and remediating reported issues, communicating resolution to stakeholders

* Onboarding and offboarding of users, including providing IT training

* Enforce security policies to protect company equipment and data

* Create and update documentation including diagrams, SOPs, worklists, inventory, and configuration

* Provide support on company PBX, cell phones, and associated telecom devices

* Purchasing of IT equipment

* Minimum requirement: College Diploma in computer science, software engineering, technology or equivalent

* Industry courses/certifications: Microsoft or CompTIA certifications considered an asset

* ITIL Service Management exposure/knowledge/certification also considered an asset

* 1-2 years of experience providing IT end user technical support

* Hands-on experience with diagnosing and resolving basic technical issues

* Experience with Active Directory and Office 365 is an asset
