Service Manager
The Service Manager will be responsible for the operational success and profitability of the Service department operations. This is a full-time position and pay will be competitive based on education-level and experience. This position is responsible for efficient day-to-day running of the repair shop including best use of space, equipment and technicians, and effective coordination of service department workload.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
* Oversee service department operations and maintain a safe and efficient work environment
* Review customer requests for service to ascertain cause for service request and type of repair required
* Call on customers and prospects and influence and promote customer satisfaction, service, and support
* Resolve customer problems to restore and promote positive customer relationships
* Prepare service estimates and ensure STS estimate procedures are followed
* Determine personnel, parts, and equipment required for repair orders
* Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance
* Provide technical training and guidance to all technicians to ensure quality work product and continued growth opportunities for all employees.
* Supervise all work in shop to assure quality and that standards of performance and safety are met
* Know the status of all jobs and report any concerns to Senior Leadership
* Ensure that every job is completed on time, on schedule, and correctly the first time at maximum door rate
* Perform quality control and sign off on every job before it leaves the shop
* Ensure that all job paperwork is properly handled, that time on job is accurately tracked, and that parts and equipment used are accounted for
* Investigate accidents and injuries and prepare reports of findings
* Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional computer/repair order management system familiarity.
* Strong customer service experience.
* Experience/Education: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Service Manager or Shop Foreperson role in a heavy-duty trailer/truck equipment environment.
* Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license
