Shipping & Receiving Clerk



Main Duties:

Process outbound shipments

Pull, pack, fulfill and ship

Maintain a safe and clean warehouse

Make sure refrigerator and freezers are organized, clean, and ready for the day

Prepare and harvest ice from large freezers into shipping freezers

Prepare cardboard boxes for the day's shipments

Clean/maintain orderliness of shipping office and cooler stations



Secondary Duties:

Organize shipping cooler at the beginning of each shipping period for pulling product to ship

Ensure that there is always more than enough ice for the next day

Defrost freezers when necessary

Assure sufficient product and supply inventory in collaboration with shipping and production teams



DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATIONSHIPS AND ROLES:

Supervised/evaluated by Assistant Operating Manager, Office Manager and/or designee.

Works directly under Shipping Department Lead, Production Lead, and other Pellet Food Production Attendant.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Reaching with hands/arms throughout shift - Ability to use hands and fingers.

Ability to see, hear and effectively communicate with both verbal and written communication.

Ability to distinguish colors.

Ability to work in light to moderate noise levels where hearing protection is required.

May work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and vibration.

Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.

Ability to lift/move up to 60 lbs to shoulder height. Push/pull items up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

Walk up to 400 yards to work and break areas.

Must enjoy working in a rural environment and not mind getting wet/dirty.

Shiftwork is common, including on weekends and public holidays.
