Job Description

Services Research and Development (SRD) team focuses on projects related to Digital transformation of equipment through IoT, Connectivity & Application programming Interface (API's). As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for:





1 The development and testing of control systems for elevators and people flow using digital electronics and communications.

2 Evaluate and test digital products with software and real-time embedded systems using model-based software development tools.

3 Designing, prototyping and preparing for production primarily digital solutions for new solutions,

4 Collaborating with Product Owners in SRD as well as the North American business teams to determine specifications

5 Collaborating with teams located in the US, Finland, India and China to reach goals.



Buzzwords: Software and hardware development, system integrations, IoT, Cloud, Software Development, Agile, Micro services, Containerization, Mobile Platform, BACnet, Modbus, API.



As System Integration Engineer your main responsibilities will be:





* Modify and design digital products/software solutions for advanced people flow systems (example: Elevators, Escalators, Turnstiles, Access Control)

* Create required documentation and user manuals for the digital solutions for both functional and technical designs

* Build and subcontract the building of prototypes for software validation and testing.

* Work in a team structure and manage assignments using Lean and Agile methodology.

* Maintain cost estimates for designed components and subsystems to compare with cost targets

* Actively collaborate with extended team to achieve IoT goals.

* Travel to job sites for testing and validation of pilot installations.

* Manage SIE tasks for projects as part of project teams.



The desired candidate will have:





* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge.

* 3 to 5 years experience in software and digital design including prototyping, formal documentation, and implementation into a product environment including subcontractor management.

* Has programing experience with software application developments in C, C++, C#, goLang, Python, Kubernetes, and/or Native Android

* Experience with Lean and Agile methodologies and frameworks. (Leadership experience is a plus)

* Experience analyzing requirements that include complex dependencies and producing compliant solutions in a teamwork environment.

* Experience troubleshooting embedded systems and root cause analysis of failures.

* Experience writing technical design documents (TDDs) and functional specification documents (FSDs)

* Bonus Experience:

* Knowledge of Software application developments using Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence

* Experience doing digital interface circuitry design, or specification and subcontractor design management complete through prototyping.

* Experience with building system integration.

* Experience with Elevator and/or Escalator operating principles and technologies, especially in a field environment.
