Job Description


Provides comprehensive project management for the execution and delivery of large complex projects or site programs, consisting of multiple complex projects, from early design or development through lifecycle management (LCM). Examples of programs may include facility start-up, large capital projects, portfolio transfers, etc. Assumes full responsibility for a program/project, ensuring quality of all work is carried out and serves as a cross-functional leader, ensuring all deliverables are achieved on or ahead of schedule, within budget target, and with quality that meets or exceeds business needs. As a Program Manager, the colleague independently manages multiple programs/projects and work activities that are critical to site business plans and development, using leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and influence for high team performance. Evaluates and defines the approach for the program/project execution and provides leadership in the development of strategic planning efforts. Provides significant day-to-day project management direction, contributes to the identification and planning of broader objectives. Responsibilities encompass strategic problem-solving, project planning, regulatory compliance, execution and delivery, team effectiveness, risk management, and communication management. The position requires interfacing with various departments, development organizations and key business partners (horizontally and vertically).


Manages development of overall program/project schedule (including key milestones and critical path), coordination of multiple sub-projects, budget and related interdependencies.

Creates and manages all associated tracking and quality systems for the program.

Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization, including senior internal and/or external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between organizations

Creates/Supports resource forecasts and confirms appropriate team resources assigned for program/project support.

Leads and facilitates the identification of operation and program/project issues and risks and drives resolution through a matrix environment, effectively documenting decisions/rationale.

Provides assessment of milestone achievement, investment triggers and go/no go decision points to prepare for governance presentations to support portfolio-level decision making and prioritization.

Facilitates team to appropriate discussions leading to effective decision-making, alternative development options, including pros, cons, and risks.

Provides solutions to complex problems which requires the use of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity


BS in Business, Engineering or Technical related field required

Demonstrated 7+ years prior experience in large complex project/program management supporting technology transfer, production, engineering, or process development

Experience in pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry preferred

Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be able to articulate issues and solutions to the team and upper management. Able to produce high quality project reports and presentations

Professional PM Certification (Project Management Professional [PMP] or equivalent) preferred
