Job Description

Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) Characterization and Development Engineer - King County, WA - Targeting $90,000 - $150,000/yr. (DOE) - Relocation assistance is offered


* Develop assembly methods for prototype MEMS devices and assist in the assembly process

* Develop and maintain MEMS test and characterization solutions for prototype and pre-production units

* Perform reliability and performance assessments for units exposed to temperature cycling, shock, and cyclic operation

* Troubleshooting and failure analysis of MEMS devices to determine failure mode and corrective action to improve design related faults

* Create and maintain documentation related to test equipment, test procedures, and assembly processes

* System identification, model matching, and maintenance for Simulink-based MEMS

* Electrical Testing

* Tooling Hardware

* Making sure the machine assembly is functional

* Disassemble the machine and determine how to troubleshoot and fix any design issue

* Electromechanical

* Troubleshoot the machine behavior

* Failure analysis engineering or new product engineering

* Background in MEMS or Systems engineering

* LabView, MATLAB

* Focus is on the hardware, not the software


* At least 3 to 7 years of experience in related technical field

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics required

* Excellent mechanical aptitude, working knowledge of MEMS assembly procedures, failure analysis, and environmental test methods

* Previous experience using LabView, MATLAB, and other programming skills to interface with test equipment

* Previous experience using MATLAB & Simulink to create and maintain device and system models matching model results with characterization results

* Working knowledge of 3D modeling tools (SolidWorks is preferred)

* Create and maintain documentation, make presentations, and analyze test results

* Lab and cleanroom environments

* Using standard lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.) to validate performance
