The Strategic Account Manager will provide world class service to our most business‐critical customers through the full sales cycle ‐ from exploration and consultation through order generation and revenue. Your focus will be on greenhouse produce and growers and vertical farm producers. This position will work from a home office and will Midwest and Texas.

Service an established portfolio of clients and prospect/pipeline new business. Walk into a greenhouse and know what is going on, talk farmer-to-farmer, grower-to-grower. Act as the front end of the spear, point of contact for Science, engineering, and other services.

Key Functions Include: * Achieve individual sales revenue goals and contribute to reaching Commercial Ag team goals as well as overall goals. * You will oversee all aspects of the customer relationship to assist them through the sales process from initial consultation and design through solution presentation, closing and revenue. * Prospect and turn new opportunities into loyal customers. * Understand customer goals early in the relationship and partner with internal technical experts and external industry partners to provide the right solutions. Respond to clients in a timely, respectful and professional manner with a keen sense of customer experience. * Work with teams across the organization to resolve customer issues and provide world class service in a timely manner. * Act as a Project Manager when working in a complex selling environment within the customer's business. * Ensure an exceptional customer experience through accurate collection and updating of customer information, sales and history through the dedicated CRM system

Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Horticulture Science, Agronomy, Business or equivalent * Must have 10+ years of relevant horticultural working experience, preferably in sales/customer relations management in the controlled growing environment sectors (i.e. Greenhouses) * Required in‐depth technical growing knowledge of the climate‐controlled growing environment food crop and high‐wire vegetable industry (i.e. Greenhouses) * Sales experience must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written) as well as a record of achieving sales goals. * Proven track record of building productive, trust‐based relationships with customers across a range of roles in production, growing, operations and pest management. * Existing relationships with external resources within the greenhouse vegetable sector such as equipment and/ greenhouse manufacturers, and other channel partners is preferred. * Understanding of financials for commercial growers and therefore, Skilled in working collaboratively as part of a team to serve the needs of the customer * Able to advocate for the customer internally and represent the voice of the customer * Ability to travel >50%, located near a major airport in region
