Job Description

Civil/Structural Engineer



Responsibilities



* Perform calculations for structural steel and concrete restoration designs under the direction of a technical manager. Designs vary in complexity and include the reinforcing, restoration and support of transmission line towers and poles.

* Provide field support and Quality Assurance for assigned transmission structure projects within the steel and concrete Corrosion Services team (inspections, engineering, repairs, cathodic protection, etc.).

* Write reports and technical documents.

* Interact with customers via phone, email and web as necessary to support the Corrosion Services team.

* Provide live training, webinars and demos as required to support existing and potential field and customer training requirements relating to corrosion inspection and repair.

* Perform inspections and field work in accordance with contract requirements.

* Assist in planning and prioritizing structural corrosion control and cathodic protection within project guidelines.

* Support pilot projects for all business units by providing field support, writing reports and compiling data for presentations.

* Support R&D projects by participating in field work, performing data collection, compiling data and writing reports.



Qualifications



* Bachelor's Degree in engineering or engineering technology (civil, structural) from an accredited program and prior experience with the testing of concrete, steel and soils; experience detailing utility structures a plus. We have a several positions available at different levels; salary and job title is based on experience.

* Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination and certification as an Engineer In Training (EIT).

* Willingness to participate in additional training and certifications to support the company's corrosion program such as NACE Basic Corrosion, NACE Level I CIP, NACE Level I CP

* Willingness to occasionally travel overnight (0-20%) and work varied hours, sometimes in harsh weather conditions, to achieve desired results.
