Job Description

Manpower is currently seeking a Survey Manager for a permanent opportunity with a major, respectable client located in Edmonton, AB. This position is working in office, Monday through Friday.

What will you be doing?



* Manage a variety of survey projects and personnel management

* Manage the survey team's sustainability, and collaborate with human resources to create and uphold hiring policies that are focused on finding and keeping long-term, high-quality personnel

* Oversee the purchase, upkeep, and potential upgrading of all survey equipment

* Manage all machine control equipment and support asset management for all machine control acquisitions (Example: Caterpillar AccuGrade GPS control system)

* Project monthly and yearly spending for the survey department, which includes IT support and equipment purchases

* Oversee training sessions and seminars to make sure survey supervision keeps up with evolving technological possibilities

* Regularly consult with regional survey workers to ensure that safety protocols and survey procedures are being followed

* Encourage business initiatives to use machine control technologies to increase the productivity and efficiency of operations

* Work with internal Quality to review and incorporate technology advancements as they relate to the surveying sector



What will you bring?



* 5+ years of supervisory experience overseeing surveyors and survey equipment

* 15+ years of progressive experience in the land surveying or construction surveying fields

* A Registered Land Surveyor license or other relevant credentials will be regarded an asset

* Degree or diploma in Geomatics or Survey Engineering

* High level of machine control GPS competency

* Extensive drone surveying experience

* Trimble equipment experience is an asset

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Excellent writing and verbal communication skills Demonstrated solid business development and customer interaction skills High productivity, attention to detail, and resourcefulness

* Flexibility to travel and operate in a variety of weather circumstances The capacity to develop and inspire various groups of survey employees and perform well in a team environment
