Job Description

Manpower is currently seeking a Technical Associate Specialist in PCB Manufacturing working in the Alcon Irvine, CA facility. The technical associate specialist is responsible for printed circuit board assembly, troubleshooting, and test as part of full-scale manufacturing operations. The technical associate specialist will work towards increased output, increased quality levels, improved efficiency, reduced downtime, and waste elimination as needed. The technical associate specialist will provide PCB expertise and perform multiple tasks across the business individually, on assigned teams, and assisting and interacting with Manufacturing Engineers, Product Line Supervisors, Production Leads, etc.



Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Learn quickly and pass all job-specific training and/or certifications required for core tasks and specialized assignments

* Self-manage dynamic workload meeting and exceeding performance goals at expected quality levels

* Perform complex PCB soldering and mechanical assembly of required hardware and electronic components in accordance with IPC-A 610 standards

* Program, operate, and maintain PCB manufacturing and test equipment

* Test, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment and PCB quality issues troubleshooting electrical circuits and reworking assemblies as required to meet specifications

* Understand, comply with, and update procedures, schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and other documentation as needed.

* Suggest and execute improvements to procedures, processes, and equipment

* Participate in team projects that develop process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures that enhance operational efficiencies and product quality

* Proficient verbal and written communication in English (must be able to understand and comply with written procedures and assembly drawings. Must be able to complete and perform detailed reviews of documentation such as Device History Records, test data sheets, and other documentation.)

* Computer savvy (Interface with ERP system for material movements and transactions. Program automated equipment for improved efficiency and to accommodate new PCB designs)



Required Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* 5+ years of Relevant Experience in PCB manufacturing

* Demonstrated hands on expertise in complex PCB soldering and mechanical assembly of required hardware and electronic components in accordance with IPC-A 610 standards

* Demonstrated understanding and experience in PCB testing, troubleshooting, and repair

* Clear understanding and ability to utilize and update procedures, schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and other documentation as needed

* Demonstrated understanding and experience in operating and maintaining manufacturing and test equipment

* Must have good problem solving skills

* Must be able to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

* Must have the ability to work independently, self-manage their time, and be comfortable working under pressure to tight deadlines on a daily basis

* Must be a good team member with a positive attitude that works well with others



Preferred Qualifications:

* BS, AS, AA in electronics, engineering, or other related disciplines

* Experience working with Medical Device and/or Vision Care products

* IPC-A 610 and IPC-7711/7721 Certified
