Job Description

General Responsibilities:



The position Reports to the Site Manager and will be responsible for directing and managing the



Technical Department, planning and overseeing assigned engineering operations of the plant, providing highly



responsible and complex administrative support to other departments and to company senior management.



Specific Duties:



 Direct Technical Department staff in order to provide plant-wide technical support for production,



maintenance, environmental and safety teams.



 Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration



of technical activities.



 Analyze technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of technical projects.



 Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation of the facilities and equipment.



 Confer with management, production, maintenance and staff to discuss project specifications and



procedures.



 Prepare budgets, bids and contracts for engineering projects.



 Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, and



making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.



 Responsible for annual budget development and management.



 Inspire and coach to optimize performance of employees and processes; develop and coach employees



via mentoring to continuously improve knowledge, skills, and ability; hold employees accountable; and



develop successors and talent pools.



 Manage and motivate employees to be active in safety programs, and adhere to the plant's EHS&S



policies and procedures.



 Develop key performance indicators (KPI's) and lead engineering results and team performance to



meet/exceed the KPI's



 Manage the performance and professional development of department personnel.



Qualification Requirements:



 Experience in progressively more responsible positions in petrochemical or



refining process operations



 Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred



 Demonstrated strong leadership abilities



 Self-motivated leader that is proactive with a strong sense of urgency toward improvement



 A hands-on visible leader that seeks engagement and involvement of employees



 Results driven - - Routinely uses goals, objectives and metrics to achieve results



 Possess the ability to quickly assess a situations and take responsibility for directing a course of action



 Excellent written and oral communication skills
