Job Description

Manpower is currently seeking a Telebelt Operator for one of our clients in Red Deer



Class 1 License POSITION OVERVIEW:



Planning & Scheduling

* Go over daily job expectations and help plan telebelt operations with the telebelt supervisor.

* Set up, take down and wash out procedures of equipment in a timely fashion.

* Maintain and communicate the job schedule to ensure completion of projects in timely manner

* Communicate the job scheduling with job foreman and material suppliers to ensure plans stay on track

Quality Control

* Manage all resources (materials, equipment, etc.) productively and safely

* Calculate and double check material volumes to ensure it is placed properly

* Ensure all required information is accurate and detailed for the invoicing processes regarding site happenings

* Record red flag documentation to help alleviate productivity and safety issues

Maintenance & Other duties

* Complete regular maintenance and service of equipment and tools according to the established Maintenance Calendar based on manufactured specifications.

* Complete basic repair on equipment (light bulbs, check fan belts, hoses, connections, etc).

* Complete cleaning of the equipment on a regular basis.

* Supervisor / management specified activities at the shop or construction sites.

Health & Safety

* Haul material to and from job sites, complying with all governing safety standards as per Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation.

* Drive safely, following the rules and regulations of the Motor Vehicle Act.

* Complete pre-trip / post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment

* Ensure proper completion of Hazard Assessment

* Know, understand, communicate and ensure compliance with the safety regulations and Company safety policies and procedures

* Identify needs for crew safety training and facilitate delivery of training

* Participate in safety / incident investigations and reviews

* Record Near Misses to help alleviate safety issues

Leadership & Communication

* Monitor the progress of the Swamper and other workers while focusing on the task at hand.

* Support job training for apprentices and facilitate mentoring of apprentices by other team members

Administration

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

* Valid class 1 or 3 driver's license with both drivers and commercial abstracts.

* Experience operating specialized equipment, load securement and DOT compliance.

* Safety tickets: First Aid, WHMIS, (other safety tickets are an asset).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of relevant OH&S standards regarding telebelt operations.

* Knowledge and skills of telebelt placing techniques and applications.

* Knowledge of basic concrete and aggregate terminology, properties and volumes.

* Knowledge and skills to complete basic maintenance, small repairs and service work on heavy equipment.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

* Ability to handle heavy loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
